Born in Melbourne Australia, music producer and songwriter Paul 'Dimes' Dimer, influenced and inspired by the earlier sampled based sounds of the underground New York hip-hop movement, is currently forging his own path in the Melbourne music scene. ​Attending SAE in 2008 for a Diploma of Music Industry (Audio Engineering and Production), Dimes soon realised he felt most comfortable in a studio environment. Producing, beat making, recording and mixing became the main focus, with video production following soon after, recording for local and international artists, including Philadelphia artist Daz Jones. Recording and releasing their first collaboration together in early 2015, ‘Last Days’ which featured on Team Backpack’s “Live from the Underground”, led to the entirely produced by Dimes album length release, titled ‘The Burn City Project’, which is out now.

With punching basslines and eclectic rhythms, the Brisbane based duo are one to be heard and seen. With tracks released on labels such as MMXVAC and Elysian Records and collaborations with big names such as Quix, AB the Thief and Holly this duo is one you do not want to sleep on.

Heavily influenced by 70`s psych rock with a twist of french house, the sound can only be described as unique. Many blog write ups are saying his 2009 EP , The Antonio EP, takes you on a psychedelic journey and really makes you feel as though your in some kind of 80`s Horror/Thriller film. Dimes is also one part of Melbourne based group 'The Black Market' which is recording its debut EP in January 2010.

Drawing inspiration from some of the biggest names in the industry, like What So Not, RL Grime, Bauuer and more, these two have a bright future ahead of them. Their solo careers have seen them support acts like Datsik, Milo & Otis, Botnek, Aryay, Hudson Mohawk, Mr. Carmac and Girrafage, along with homegrown acts such as PhaseOne, Hydraulix, Spenda C, Arcane Echo, Slumberjack, A-Tonez and DJ Butcher with supporting sets for Grandtheft and Just Blaze on the horizon. Playing at a multitude of clubs including, TBC, The Boundary, The Normanby, The Met, GPO, Coniston Lane, The Helm, Rattlesnake, Bass Freqs and Biscuit Factory with more along the way, this is a duo to keep your eye on.
