DMA’S have claimed their first UK top 3 album this week and matched their highest Australian chart result, coming in at #3 on the UK Official Album Chart and #2 in Australia with their critically-acclaimed fourth studio album How Many Dreams?. The release marks the band’s highest chart position to date in the UK, following their third album THE GLOW peaking at #4 on the UK Official Album Charts and #2 on the ARIA charts. With How Many Dreams?, their second top 5 album in the UK, the Sydney band have achieved a feat only a handful of Australian artists have – amongst the likes of Kylie Minogue, ACDC and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. It has been a period of re-discovery for the band resulting in a record that is the grand sum of every part of who DMA’S are. Across twelve tracks, How Many Dreams? weaves electronic dance elements seamlessly through the band’s beloved foundations of guitar rock, punk, and lyricism – and is currently being heard on stages across the UK and Europe, including an upcoming night at London’s iconic OVO Arena Wembley. Gleaned from over 70 early demos, it was recorded between London – with super producers Stuart Price (Dua Lipa, The Killers, Pet Shop Boys) and Rich Costey (Sigur Ros, Muse, Foster the People), and the band’s hometown of Sydney with Konstantin Kersting (Spacey Jane, Mallrat, The Jungle Giants). This incredible feat is a testament to the band’s dedication to their craft, the immense power of their fanbase, and the open-armed response they elicit on international shores. “Thanks to everyone for your amazing reactions this week to ‘How Many Dreams?’. Couldn’t be more proud. Thanks for your ongoing love and support. See ya this year as we tour it all live, can’t wait!!” – Tommy O’Dell, Johnny Took & Matt Mason | DMA’S
