These songs are kinda like research for a band I'm in called the Kildares. 'Sfunny... the Kildares (Booth/Hardcastle/Holyoake) started in Portland in 2011 as a 1966 influenced group, then a 64-67 influenced group, then a pre-man-landing-on-the-moon-group, now we are a pre-Sunbury influenced group. I mean, boundaries can be good... imagine Picasso's blue period in technicolour or Falling Water with arts-and-crafts bay windows... but we are kind of over worrying too much about the exact year our music harkens to. We are into garage rock that is 'post-British Invasion', but 'pre-psychedelic/endless solos/blues jams' ; the time when three minute pop songs were owned by kids from the suburbs armed only with a mail-order guitar and a nasal snarl, y’know? Anyway, these songs are not Kildares songs - just demo delvings into a period I really dig. They were bloody good fun to make and were a great excuse to dust off some ebay gear and try some retro recording techniques.
