Elevating his brand of emotionally vulnerable hip-hop, Sydney artist Donny Dee releases 'Messages', the first taste of his aptly-named EP, Empath. Rebuilding his life after gaining a job as a carpenter, Donny Dee soon found himself spending time with underground rap staples like Mitchos Da Menace and MixedByEspa. They instilled the faith in him that music could be a career, and he hasn't looked back since. "They told me I had a gift in music," he says. "Although I wasn’t the best, they could see past that, and told me I could have a future in rap." Since then, Donny Dee has dropped a handful of singles, an EP, and performed his first live show at the Bodega Collective showcase in late 2021. With a handful of upcoming singles and the eventual arrival of Empath in December, Donny Dee is a name that will become very familiar to ears in 2022.
