‘A need to move forward’: DRAFTDAY made their debut with the energetic and cathartic debut EP ‘When I Went Away’ (2020), featuring stadium like choruses in leading single ‘Mess I’ve Made’ and closing track ‘White Fences’ to the lyrical vulnerability on ‘Aster’. The release of ‘When I Went Away’ saw the Australian outfit perform multiple festival slots and support nationally renowned acts such as ‘The Smith Street Band’, ‘Slowly Slowly’, ‘Luca Brasi’ and ‘Belle Haven’. However, DRAFTDAY is looking for something more. ‘The change of sound felt like a necessity to step a little deeper into something unknown’ (Lead Vocalist, Arran Barker). After a year of growing creatively, the outfit are set to reach new heights with their lead single ‘Callback’, a pop-tinged nod to the music that influenced DRAFTDAY throughout their youth.
