Honing their craft over the past few years to become practitioners of rocking pop songs, Melbourne based Drawing Arcs are a classic guitar, bass and drums three-piece. Featuring a founding member of post-rockers International Karate, Drawing Arcs channel a 90s guitar sound – Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr and Built to Spill – accompanied by driving drums and a vocal/bass approach that harkens back to late 70s UK – Wire and The Cure – post-punk energies. Recently recording their debut self-titled album at Head Gap, Drawing Arcs co-produced the album with Brent ’Sloth’ Punshon who has worked with Adalita, Ouch My Face and The Fearless Vampire Killers. Final touches to the album came courtesy of Adam Dempsey at Deluxe Mastering, who has worked with Grand Silent System, Heirs and The Orbweavers to name a few. With a consistency in their output, in both live shows and through their recording, Drawing Arcs show great contrast between sophistication and simplicity with music that is distorted
