driftpoint hail from Morwell in the Latrobe Valley [Vic] and formed in 2000 originally as Plow. After cutting their teeth in their local region they embarked on the Melbourne scene in 2003. Playing the typical city venues available to their style of music [ Goo, Next, Roll Over, Ding Dong Lounge, The Evelyn Hotel and The Espy ] as well as various other regional areas driftpoint are building a steady fan base. Currently they're getting ready to release their debut ep and have already had a good response from the main track " My Final Hour ". This track was included on a compilation cd compiled by a Melbourne radio station alongside bands such as Karnivool, Full Scale and Cog. driftpoint are without a doubt set to make a big impact on Australia's heavy music scene. driftpoint work hard to create a heavy melodic sound that is creative and laiden with interesting time signatures whilst at the same time not being too far out of reach for the more timid heavy music fan.
