Drop Tank was formed in late 2008 with the chance meeting of Singer/Guitarist and Drummer/loud mouth Harry Thynne. They started playing music when moved into the warehouse - in Marrickville. The pair began writing high energy songs, born out of instrumental jams in the mad, delapidated world of the crumbling building they now inhabited. "We try to just let songs happen organically without trying to second guess how they're 'supposed to sound'. I think this keeps them sounding more connected to the initial frantic energy that spawns them when the two of us get in the rehearsal room". In 2009 Drop Tank was joined by the frenetic live energy of Scotty "The Wiz-Fiz Kid" Davey and the trio began smashing shows as a three piece in the underground of the innerwest's warehouse party scene.
