Having spent over a decade writing music and touring North America, Europe and Australia with his band Boy & Bear, DRY RED MARS is the long-in-the-works solo project of Killian Gavin. Growing up in Sydney, Australia, Killian began his musical education largely self-taught across a range of instruments, however it wasn’t until he picked up a guitar that a passion and dedication to his art was born. The influence of 60s rock n roll within his childhood home was met with his own zest for discovering new music as a teenager. Unbeknown to Killian, his obsession with learning his favourite Nirvana and Beatles songs on guitar laid the groundwork for his journey in becoming an ARIA & APRA award-winning songwriter. Crafting catchy melodies over hypnotic grooves and jangly guitars with atmospheric synths, Dry Red Mars blends indie pop with alternative undertones. The edge and grit are tamed with Gavin's melancholy vocals, whilst lyrically remaining both vulnerable and truthful to himself.
