DUB ZOO are skanking their way into Spring with a sexy new track Something in the Way. The first single from the bands upcoming Pocketful EP, Something in the Way features the soulful melodic prowess of Benny G aka Ben Goldstein (Hot Potato Band) on lead vocals. In typical DUB ZOO style the arrangement was written on a whim in the studio and recorded in one take by the rhythm section of Paddy Kiernan, Bradley ‘B-Dubs’ Wenham and Leon Tussie, the whole process over in less than an hour. The instrumental track was then played to long time friend and collaborator Benny G who penned the lyrics and melody one hazy evening at DUB ZOO HQ, the bands home on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Inspired by the Kiwi reggae styles of L.A.B, the Black Seeds and Fat Freddys Drop, Something in the Way is both a heavy and laid back groove which marks the collectives first foray into self produced music and a taste of what’s to come from the DUB ZOO collective.
