I live in sydney and work with migrant students from all over the world. Many of the students are refugees. The boats is a song about experiences and feelings of refugees fleeing war and persecution. The words reflect a common theme of many refugees. The music consists of a simple melody with harmony in parts accompanied by an acoustic guitar
