Ecks is one individual, Darren Wilkins, who has come from a life of playing the drums in various bands. Darren has now traded the sticks for a Keyboard and a Computer. Ecks' music ranges a from dark melodic ambience, through to bright dance tracks. Most of the time his music combines layers of intricate drum tracks programmed by the drummer that still lurks in the darker areas of Darren's brain. Darren's musical influences began in the 80's with his love of metal! In a bizarre twist, he moved on to jazz and played for several years in jazz and funk bands. In the late 90's Darren discovered the power of computers and that even a "drummer" could create amazing music. Darren now produces music in the guise of Ecks.
