Edit history

Former member of Smokescreen, Effekt started his hip hop career in 2001, starting a breakdancing crew with long-time friend/artist "Oxcyde" named "Crown Element Crew" (CEC) in Tasmania. After wanting to broaden his horizons he started writing lyrics and rhyming over beats in 2002. After relocating to Melbourne, Victoria, he started focusing his energy into his music which then developed into a 2-man crew with "Oxcyde" and released 2 samplers during that time. Joining 'Smokescreen Syndicate' in 2006, they had done shows supporting the likes of Mystro (UK), P-Money, Hired Goons, Maggot Mouf, Daywalkers, Urban Monk and more! Effekt has since made a return with releasing solo projects and brings his own perspective on the present and future of the world to the table as a punchy political strong point.
