Ella Hanshaw (1934-2020) was a singer/songwriter from Procious, WV. Over her lifetime, she wrote hundreds of songs—solos, duets, quartets— that range from cheeky romantic country ballads to heart-wrenchingly sincere devotionals. A fervent Pentecostal, she believed her songs were gifts from God. It’s a hard claim to contest. Her sweet twang and keen ear will make a believer out of anybody.
