Emma Frances' music weaves raw folk with honest story-telling, producing short, uninhibited cuts of undisguised folksy expressionism. Not afraid to wear her heart on her sleeve lyrically, her debut self-produced Ep "The Stories Unfold" is a retrospect of a tumultuous youth of wayward travelling and endless emotionally unbridled relationships. This is articulated through sparse acoustic arrangements and meandering vocal melodies - but this restraint is balanced with soaring vocal runs, revealing an unexpectedly strong voice out of the tiny Irish-Australian.
