Originally the vocalist for Perth band "The Dirty Whittler" (1997-2003) The origins of Envelope Muse can be traced back to the early 2000s in the coastal deep south of Western Australia. A profound connection to dark ambient, harshnoise, industrial, soundtrack and film composition inspired early experimentation with a 4 track recorder, a guitar, a mic and effects pedals, and from those humble beginnings the work of Envelope Muse evolved into the dark ambient industrial soundtracks the artist produces today. These heavily textured and moving visions are made possible through the integration of field recordings, modified equipment, film/audio samples, voice, synths, guitar and bass. Dialogue runs as a theme and the music is carefully constructed for film and live performance. Envelope Muse soundtracks evoke feelings of solitude, confinement and isolation through their foreboding, ominous and discordant overtones.
