Epithets are a five piece independent band from Brisbane and Melbourne, Australia. Their new album, "The Wellspring", is available online from epithets.net Following a cultishly revered demo in 2010 and their much-lauded debut LP “Year Of Glad” in 2011, 2012’s “A New Tradition” EP saw the band’s prolific nature continuing in parallel with their unrelentingly self-enforced musical growth. The title track was voted to #37 on 4ZZZ’s Hot 100, and was played regularly on Triple J Unearthed for four months. Bolstered by this reception, the band decamped to a farmhouse outside of Toowoomba in November 2012, drawing inspiration from the isolation and brutal heatwave alike to begin composing their second LP. "The Wellspring" is the result. Recorded in July 2013 by Casey Rice (The Dirty Three, Tortoise, Sunny Day Real Estate, Grand Salvo), the album is all at once a passionate ode to, and dissection of, the notion of "home" - along with what it means to leave one behind.
