EQ is a Jazz Quartet made up of 4 keen and creative ex-students of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music's Jazz Course. Formed in May 2008, EQ's ever-expanding repertoire includes many original compositions by bandleader and trumpet player Ellen Kirkwood, as well as arrangements and compositions by the other band members, and their own versions of modern jazz compositions by other great jazz musicians of today. EQ's style is all at once unique, quirky, dark, fun, grooving, and catchy, from intense to peaceful, from angry to playful.
