F.C.K is the solo project of Naarm/Melbourne rapper, musician and spoken word artist, Amy Wright; mixing punk rock ideals with hip hop and spoken word energy to create a sound purely their own. In 2019, they released their debut full length "tape one" and immediately set off to Europe for a run of queer and punk club shows. Upon returning they headed straight into recording the follow up and now release their first track of the year, "Brown Rain". A jazz influenced punk hop banger featuring production by Simo Soo, Brown Rain was written during Australia’s January bushfires with the music video filmed during May’s COVID-19 lockdown. While all of F.C.Ks work is heavily focussed on exposing issues around class and gender, Brown Rain blends this ideology with the experience of lockdown and trying to hold on to the good things in life. The track’s music video embodies the song’s themes seeing Wright in an eternal dystopian lockdown, anxiety rising as the time ticks on and on and on.
