Hey, how's it going? As you know (coz you're on our page) we're 'The Familia'. The Familia = The Family. Our band is a family, seriously though... everyones related. Jake and Angus met in a piano lesson at the tender age of 4, and have been playing and writing music together ever since! We weren't kidding about being related either. Each member of our band is related to someone else. It's crazy! Not only that, but we all live in the same little suburb! It's because of this though, that we all gel so well together. We get off the school bus and head straight to the garage for a jam! We write all our own stuff and love to entertain in local and surrounding environments (cafe's, pubs, restaurants etc.). Currently we're recording our debut Album, which should be hitting the shelves (or rather, the web) around september this year. If we had to pick a genre to fall under, it would probably lay somewhere between Indie, folk and alternative-Rock, but we pride ourselves on being original.

FAMILIA are a recently formed Sydney rock band blending a diverse mix of rock influences from each of its band members. Apparently we blend a cocktail of rock, goth, metal and grunge influences with hooky riffs and anthemic vocals. We aim to keep our songs individually diverse and not easily pigeon holed into a particular genre of rock, but all of them more catchy than swine flu. On the gig scene around Sydney and lucky enough to play Manning Bar as our first gig on the Deathstar’s tour with Ink. We’d love the chance to reach a broader audience through Triple J, Homebake and beyond. By the way.. its not FAMILIA as in spanish for Family.. thats La Familia.. guess again ;)
