Australian artist Felice Vale makes a cinematic debut with “Wanted To Die,” a brooding slice of Gothic Australiana - part confession, part curse, and entirely unforgettable. The track conjures the desolate beauty of the Australian landscape through the lens of dark country storytelling, where guilt, desire, and myth blur beneath a blood-red sky. Produced in Los Angeles by Fil Thorpe (Neck Deep, Prblm Child), “Wanted To Die” merges dusty acoustic textures with haunted electric tones, creating a sound both intimate and vast. Vale’s voice trembles between lament and defiance, telling the story of a woman pushed beyond redemption - hunted, haunting, and human. “It’s about surrender,” Vale says. “About the moment you stop running and let the darkness in.” As the first single from her forthcoming debut EP, Australian Gothic, “Wanted To Die” introduces Vale’s signature blend of cinematic melancholy and regional storytelling. The song captures the loneliness of small towns, the ghost stories that linger in their dust, and the strange beauty of what refuses to die. Vale is best known for her work as a director and executive producer and with “Wanted To Die,” she channels that same world-building instinct into music, crafting soundscapes that feel more like film scenes than songs.
