Fetching Pharaoh is the latest solo endeavour of Central Coast multi-instrumentalist and producer Joel Kelett, which features an ever changing cast of singers and live collaborators. It marks its debut with the release of catchy new single ‘Crawling Back’ with Tayla. In late 2017, Tayla came to Joel with chords and lyrics, and a demo was recorded shortly afterwards but never released. After revisiting old demos during isolation, Joel brought the track back to life and after approaching Tayla, they agreed to release it into the world. Crawling Back is the first instalment of a series of releases to come in 2020. Musically, Fetching Pharaoh is a blend of Electronica, Trip-Hop and Funk, influenced by artists such as Massive Attack, Jungle, Mark Ronson and The Avalanches. Other notable projects of Joel’s include Tunnel Vision and Array.
