Electronic musician, festival promoter, folk artist, multi instrumentalist Richard Lawson’s latest project ‘Fig Jam’ is a rollicking eclectic grab bag of musical styles based around his collaboration with young multi instrumentalists Erin Kelly and Josh Gow.. Their first extant single Rainbows End was totally recorded at home at his studio cum farm near Mudgee in the Central West of NSW. It features a stunning psychedelic stop go animated film clip directed by Jo Wilkens. To date the band have played acoustic with just 2 guitars, in full rock mode at the Gulgong Folk Festival and in electronic guise at Cementa Arts Festival with backing, drums and lighting effects. Their are plans in 2013 for a rock EP to be recorded at Pirate Studios and a further electronic EP of Lawson/Kelly collaborations plus a classical live recording at St Marys Church Mudgee featuring the Bathurst String Quartet/Orange Flute Ensemble, the Cudgegong Choir and Fig Jam in performance.
