Fishmonger is a collaboration between Jack McCullagh (Dr Sure’s Unusual Practice) and Tom Thomas (The Backs). Featuring electric guitars, vocals and nothing else, Fishmonger play soothing and commanding music with a healthy dose of harmony and melancholia. Having played live around Melbourne and regional Victoria on and off over the past three years, 2020 will mark the bands’ first official release, with a self titled EP out on vinyl in July via Marthouse Records. Punters have described Fishmonger’s sound as “hard soft rock,” “soft hard rock” and “morbid, hypnotic post-folk.” Debut single “Ripe” is set for release on May 29.
