Originating in the heart of the Bellingen Shire (NSW, Aus) Five Dollar Billie bring together five musicians with diverse backgrounds and eclectic tastes that combine to create a sound that is refreshing in its originality. Fusing a multitude of styles such as jazz, latin, freak-folk and reggae, the band navigates through a plethora of genres with ease as each member adds their own unique flavour to create a sound both engaging and accessible. Having honed their craft playing alongside acts such as King Tide, The Crooked Fiddle Band and Fyah Walk at festivals such as Bellingen River Festival, UpStream Festival, and Local M.A.D.E, Five Dollar Billie is now preparing to take their show on the road with a tour of the east coast of Australia in the works, and a debut release due early next year.
