Folkyo is the musical project of Tokyo-based folk musician Ben Coady. Traditionally a guitarist of folk music, the Folkyo project is one in which he trades guitars for electronic sounds and samples as a means of reflecting musically, the inner universes of Tokyo. Shamisen samples meet the debris of Tokyo's electronic soundscape from yesteryears which still lingers in its forgotten corners. From the sonic rubble of an otherworldly city, Folkyo is the musical expression of an outsider exploring the metropolis of Tokyo.
