Freer is a producer and collaborator. He is inspired by the natural flora and fauna that surrounds him in Meanjin (Brisbane) Queensland, Australia. His combination of field recordings, ASMR percussion, harmonic composition and slapping bass encapsulates a nostalgic vibe whilst adding forward-thinking, club ready textures. Freer melted his early influences from the golden era of Soundcloud in collaboration with hip-hop legend Lil B for his debut EP “Emeralds” (2023). Since then, he has been meticullously crafting a new sound - combining influence from contemporary melodic electronic (Jamesjamesjames, Jamie XX), early Wave music (Yung Sherman, Shlohmo), and 90s/00s goodness (Sade, Radiohead).
