Four recent chamber works by Gavin Higgins, recorded here for the first time: Gursky Landscapes, The Ruins of Detroit, Seven Welsh Folk Songs and Ekstasis. Written between 2014 and 2021, these pieces reveal Higgins’s strikingly imaginative musical world - from monumental landscapes and urban ruin to folk melody and ecstatic intensity.
