Stoner soul. GC OConnor is a Sydney/Gadigal-based multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and composer whose music blends soul, jazz, R&B, and alternative influences into a style she describes as "stoner-soul." Following years of building a reputation as a formidable live performer with shows across Australia, the UK, and Europe, she released her EP ‘Soul Lament’ in November 2023 via Low Key Source, gaining support from KEXP, Jazz FM, Bandcamp Daily, Jyoty, Rinse FM, Somewhere Soul & more. With this debut offering OConnor's husky vocals and rich, layered arrangements garnered critical acclaim for their emotional depth and sonic sophistication, and drew comparisons to artists like Cleo Sol and Nai Palm.
