We would wake up, drag ourselves into our “petite”, metro-sexual, busted up automobiles and proceed to consume half a pack of cigarettes each, while cursing for the next 20kms of inner city traffic. Half the day was spent loading and unloading boxes of music equipment, all for an hour of gig time. We played to crowds, we played to empty halls, we had members come and go. What remained is a core group who love to write music. “genefunk…” – our melodies have a knack for getting stuck in people's heads. Our arrangements are made for the songs and not egos. Our lyrics are not there to fill gaps. We believe that we have something to add, we think we belong on radio. What makes us unique is that we realise that it is not about us, it's about you.
