Geoff Bridgford began his music career as a drummer in the mid sixties playing for two popular Australian bands 'Steve and the Board' and ‘The Groove'. The Groove won the coveted first prize in the Hoadley's National Battle of the Sounds competition in 1968. (A trip to the UK and recording time at ‘Abbey Road’ Studios ) It was in London in 1970 (while playing drums for UK based band ‘Tin Tin’) that Geoff started recording with the (then united) ‘Bee Gees’ (After their initial rise to fame in 1967/68 the Bee Gees broke up in 1969 and the brothers reunited in 1970) Geoff was asked to join the group following the release of the ‘Two Years On’ album. During his time with the Bee Gees, Geoff toured internationally with them and played on songs that were released on 4 albums and 6 singles - receiving Gold records for the million selling hits ‘Lonely Days’ and their first number one in the USA ‘How Can You Mend A Broken Heart’. The early seventies period is well documented in Bee Gee biographies as an uncertain and tumultuous transitional time for the brothers and in mid 1972 Geoff decided to leave the group. After leaving the Bee Gees, Geoff continued his musical journey as an international touring and recording drummer. In his home country of Australia some of the respected Australia artists he has toured and recorded with are, Goanna, Mark Gillespie, Ross Hannaford, Venetta Fields and Joe Creighton. As a singer/songwriter he has released 2 Albums, 3 EP’s and 5 Singles.
