Geomantra aren't about to take a backward step after releasing their debut EP. With their new drummer helping to forge a more sophisticated alternate rock sound from their previous incarnation, this Brisbane based trio can't wait to get on the stage and rock the house. The bands current lineup materialsed in late 2011 when singer/guitarist Gary Summers and bass player Glen Barrett who had lost their original drummer, found a perfect match in David Laird (drums) for the post grunge/hard rock sound that the group coax from their instruments. While David has only been with the band a short time his influence has helped shape a more focused direction for the groups sound. Drawing influences from groups such as Soundgarden, Tool and Deftones, the band weave hook laden melodies into the raw palette of guitar, bass and drums to create a heavy brooding sound. With their debut EP just released the band are itching to take their live show on road.
