George Last is a singer-songwriter based in Melbourne. Launching a solo career in 2023, George regularly performs solo in Melbourne with occasional backing from "The First Born". Debut EP "Last Looks Back" is a recollection of intimate stories from his past set to a melange of indi/alt stylings. The songs showcase a quirky mix of introspective indi-rock stylings like the current single "Richmond". It's a harrowing tale of wasted youth, an atmospheric intro bangs into a thumping piano led stomp littered with growling brass and tremolo guitar stabs. "Anonymous Tip" takes a left turn into a reggae style melange of electronic and acoustic samples then swings around to a rocky conclusion. An epiphany arising from addiction told over the upbeat pop of "Green Abyss", the funeral dirge of "Darkside" and the mellow blues infusion of "Black Hull & A Gold Plimsoll" showcase the variety on this EP. "Last Looks Back" comprises songs from the past, reimagined into the 21st century, together with recent tracks delving into the past of George Last.
