Georgia Fields is a Melbourne/Naarm-based art-pop singer-songwriter known for her luminous vocals, textural live-looping, and immersive, emotionally charged performances. Her latest single Chameleon marks the first glimpse of her forthcoming fourth album. Propulsive and melodically rich, the track pairs a sly lyrical edge with a sense of controlled, joyful chaos, highlighting Fields’ distinctive approach to intelligent, left-of-centre pop. Produced by long-time collaborator Josh Barber (Gretta Ray; Queenie), Chameleon explores autistic masking, reflecting on the instinct to shapeshift in order to move through neurotypical spaces, and the question of what remains underneath. Fields’ third album Hiraeth (2022), also produced with Barber, was met with critical acclaim and national airplay, with The Australian praising its “meticulously crafted art-pop arrangements” and calling it “a moment of arrival”.
