During my early years, I grew up between the Newcastle and Sydney Northern Beaches area. Surrounded by dairy farmers, police stations and the neighbors dogs, who I’d often read books to. Not having much consistency in family life, I found pleasure in performing and creativity. By the time I had finished High School, I had starred in many stage plays, including a rendition of The Pied Piper, learnt how to play the recorder and clarinet and tap dance as well as enjoyed singing, being a bit of a comedian and going to the drive-in to see the latest box office hits. Adulthood brought many highs, these included getting my first real job, raising three children with my wife and often attending shows at the local theaters. However, it also brought many challenges. After my late wife's passing, I moved to Goulburn and found love in performing again as part of two stage plays including Aladdin and Pirates of Penzance. Many years would pass before I would take to the stage again. During 2019, whilst living in the Hunter Region, I would begin my journey again towards performing in stage plays with my first performance in 17 years being a rendition of The Witches. The Covid-19 pandemic with its many lockdowns and restrictions would see the cancellation of my next performance, with me not returning to the stage until 2021 in a rendition of Yentl. 2022 would then see my return again in a rendition of Cuckoos Nest. During this time of restrictions and uncertainty I would rekindle my old passion for music and begin writing my first original song in 2021 inspired by the stage play I had recently featured in. Esmerelda, I Love You would then be released later the same year. 2022 would be a very productive year seeing the release of further original songs including Charlie the Cat, Cuckoos Nest and When Charlie Met Esmerelda which was inspired by a late friend. Throughout 2023, I worked on the follow up to When Charlie Met Esmerelda which turned into The Cat Car, inspired by the great fun I’ve had whilst traveling around Australia and my second One Who Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest inspired song R.P McMurphy, influenced by my time performing the stage play where one of my co-stars mention that R.P should have his own diddy. 2024 was a huge year for growth, which saw me getting back into the workforce. Unfortunately, this left me with little time to work on new music but left me with plenty of ideas to take into 2025. A continuation of Charlie's story was a high priority for me when kicking off 2025. By March I had released my first twin single titled Charlies BBQ Songs which features The BBQ Song and The BBQ Song - Jazz Version, inspired by summer vibes and good times. Just 4 months later I released Washy Washy, which was inspired by a jingle that cruise liner guests would hear before meal times. I then decided to begin working on reimagined covers, starting with a Bob Dylan classic. In September my version of Knockin’ On Heavens Door was released and just 2 months later my version of Cliff Richards' Summer Holiday was released just in-time for another scorching Australian summer. I’m looking forward to another big year, moving forward into 2026. I already have plans for continuing Charlie's story with more songs detailing his great adventures as well as more reimagined covers and possibly even some comedic parodies.
