In 2023, Australian hip hop welcomes it’s newest young firebrand, GNLCA. The 19 year old MC, hailing from Sydney’s eastern suburbs, today releases his debut project, a moving tribute to his mother in the fittingly titled, ‘Dear Mum’. Pouring emotion and vulnerability into the record, GNLCA leaves everything on the table as he pays tribute to such an important figure in his life. GNLCA is naturally confident on the beat, letting the music buoy his lyrical cadence, matching the emotion he gives to each word. Using music as a way to work through personal demons, coming out the other side of it enlightened and strengthened in resolve to keep things pushing into better and brighter days, GNLCA has developed a unique voice, though his music career is still in its infancy. Two years into making music, his vision has solidified and ‘Dear Mum’ is a powerful way to open this new chapter of artistry and music.
