Born in Bethnal Green 1979. Worked in a ton of pubs / music venues around London from 1998 - 03. Somehow scored some unbelievable cushy gigs helping out The Rakes, Graham Coxon & the Chalets on tours between 2004 - 07. (Mostly just making sure the guitars were nice and tidy and providing delicious bacon baps with great patter) amazing people, amazing times. I lost complete interest in it all after a few heavy personal life things. Things got a bit mental between 2009 - 12. Jobless, Homeless, Soulless.. just life in general on the platform. An old primary school friend pretty much saved my life on Christmas Eve 2012. I got sober and clean and worked my ass off at a scaffolding job he got me from 2013 -17. On the day I turned 38 I decided I needed to finally get out of London and make a move. I'd finally had enough money and the mental capacity to do so. I threw a world map on my apartment wall, put on a blindfold and threw a dart at it. The landing was on a town in Western Australia called Geraldton. The next week I booked a flight to Perth to start a fresh life. It took a while to get my feet on the ground but I have found steady work at the local backpackers and hotel bars in town. In the summer of 2019 I found an old acoustic guitar some French fella left behind in his room. I had not held on of these things since the days on tour 12 years prior. Memories of that era came flooding back. Some great, some a grim. Most of the songs subject matter come from that period. It's like free therapy writing these little songs. As 2022 set in I felt it time to move back home. With a newfound love of music I have got back in touch with some old pals who have started a new recording studio. They want me to make sure the guitars are nice and tidy and provide bacon baps for the clients. I couldn't say no because I also lined up a part time job at walkers crisp factory. I might head back to Western Australia in the future though... the weather ain't too bad. - G.A 01.06.22
