Golf Alpha Bravo, the name given to Jagwar Ma and Gh9stw99d‘s Gabriel Winterfield’s solo project. Gabriel grew up by the ocean. It’s part of his DNA. The warmth of the sun, the colour blue, the culture of the beach. Movement, surfing, skating, sailing, it’s what he grew up with and is constant in his thoughts every day. It’s no surprise then that after 5 years in the UK, where Jagwar Ma were based, sweet memories of the sun and sea were calling. With Jagwar Ma on hiatus, Gabriel made the move from London to Los Angeles. Along with the ocean, the guitar has been an equal force for Gabriel. Combining the two, on the opposite side of the Pacific Ocean to where he grew up, is the inspiration behind the music of Golf Alpha Bravo. After introducing Golf Alpha Bravo to Australian audiences in 2019 via shows with Greta Van Fleet and Dope Lemon, 2020 saw a rush of music released with ‘The Sundog’ album featuring ‘Groove Baby Groove’ and ‘Unwind’ followed by ‘Mo’ Vibes of The Sundog’, a collection of live tracks, demos and b-sides. ‘Smoothie’ is the first official single to come from a broader release planned for 2022. With is organic drums, bass and surf guitar / blues tones, ‘Smoothie’ oozes 1960’s California style.
