Experimental music group, ‘Great Rack and an Empty Club Reverb', are releasing a tape and hosting a free launch party on Saturday 2 June. Not quite jazz, not quite stand up comedy, ‘Great Rack and an Empty Club Reverb' is an existential tryst between Maria Moles (Mondo Flockard, Jaala), Adam Halliwell (First Baboon Civilization, Mildlife) and Emily Bennett (Nyash! Afrobeat Collective, Orkeztra Glasso Bashalde). The group has spent a year mixing and remixing a day of improvised sessions onto a mixtape that immediately thrusts the listener into a parallel universe drenched in shapeshifting vocals (Bennett), fervent drums and percussion (Moles) and maverick guitar, synth, flute and tape sounds (Halliwell).
