After a lifetime of making music together in bands, Adam & Simon Robert Gibson release the first taste of their new collaborative duo project, Great Sandy. A collaboration between Adam Gibson of acclaimed Sydney band, The Aerial Maps, and his brother Simon Robert Gibson, a member of many Sydney bands plus a solo artist who has released several albums in recent years, Great Sandy is a new project the brothers have devised. Taking cues from Adam’s work with The Aerial Maps and Simon’s pop sensibility in his solo releases, Great Sandy is envisaged as a project that focuses on stuff that doesn’t fit neatly into either the Maps camp or Simon’s solo recordings - so thus a new venture was born.
