Green Skies is an alternative rock band consisting of four high school friends. They share a common background in maths and science and are currently completing their undergraduate degrees. Individually, they are influenced by radically different musical styles, including post rock, European folk, metal, indie, hip hop, punk and alternative. This diversity of musical backgrounds undoubtedly puts strain on the relatively democratic song-writing process, but also leads to pieces which don't quite fit into a single musical genre. Their music tends to vary between delicate melodic sections and heavier passages, often drastically changing mood within the one song. This quality has occasionally earned them criticism, with their music being described by some as 'bipolar', but it is an element that they personally enjoy.
