Growing up in Sydney on the sounds of the golden age of indie music, Singer Max Stanley and lead Guitarist Will Sacre started out writing campfire songs. The band formed properly when they relocated to Melbourne and started releasing their own brand of sentimental indie and folk. Jay Cutforth joined on drums in 2017 and the band quickly began putting on gigs around the country and releasing more music. Driven by their sonic fearlessness and a desire to cut through the noise, Grey Whistle Test have become a growing force in the Melbourne scene, even curating their own festival with a lineup of Sydney's finest muso's in 2019. Grey Whistle Test meld bold production with hard hitting falsettos, classical guitar and analogue drum machine textures to create their very own signature sound.
