Grimoire are a death metal band from Perth, Australia. From 1991 to 1995, Grimoire were early purveyors of Perth’s extreme metal scene. After more than twenty years away from the scene, Grimoire have returned with a re-release of their first demo Wake Me, When It’s Over on vinyl. The band are working on new material, with goals of performing in Europe and US. Formed in the 1990s. Re-invented in 2022. Grimoire’s uncompromisingly abrasive music burst onto Perth’s budding metal scene in 1991. Original members Kirk Fisher (vocals), Jai Wilson (bass), Ben Ticehurst (guitars), Ersh On (guitars) and Eugene Rose (drums) were heavily inspired by the emerging sounds of death metal sound and became early purveyors of extreme metal in Perth. Vis-a-vis Cannibal Corpse, Deicide or Napalm Death, Grimoire quickly built a reputation for their destructive live shows and wild crowds. “There was guaranteed blood at every show! The crowd would literally get up on stage and headbutt my guitar!”
