Grinding Eyes combine Psychedelic Drone-Rock and ambient Garage-Punk in a dark soundscape. Psych-Rock, Krautrock, Shoegaze and Garage- Punk can be heard in their unique sound. The band have been asked to support many different acts, Jesus and Mary Chain / Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats / Graveyard, Moon Duo / King Gizzards and the Lizard Wizard / Swervedriver, You Am I / Obits – Just to name a few!! (Review by Jarrod Heney) Sydney-siders Grinding Eyes gave the early crowd a set of dark, Jazzmaster fuelled proto-punk beauty. At times sounding like the bastard offspring of Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine, the quartet displayed a series of songs combining late 60’s Floyd space-rock overtones with a cacophonous loveliness interjected with dense slabs of fuzz laden power chords punctuated by sheets of Wah noise. Their’s is the vicious, haunting soundtrack to a Saturday night in a dark room alone with one’s own disturbing thought processes.
