Gurdeepak, aged 27, was born in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. He migrated with his family to Adelaide, South Australia at the age of 10. By profession, he is a Computer Systems Engineer having graduated from the University of South Australia, and has been working for Ericsson Australia for over 3 years now. From a very young age, he has had a keen interest in music, and in particular singing and the vocal arts. As a result, over the past 16 years, he has turned singing into his passion. When he was 10 years of age, he began singing mainly religious hymns (shabads) in the 'Punjabi' language. He then progressed and began to sing Hindi and Punjabi songs. Gurdeepak further developed his vocal talent by regular practice, which he continues to include as part of his daily routine. In 1999, he joined the Adelaide based Indian musical group 'Bhangaroo' and has been their resident singer for the past 5 years. His forte consisted mainly of Punjabi and Hindi songs within the group.
