• GUY MILNER has been stalking the edge of the Sydney music landscape for years, finely honing his craft and learning the skills embodied in his debut EP, Into the Midst From Above. A heady wash of immediacy and nostalgia, lo-fi grain and taut production, Milner owns a sound that balances croon, swagger, rhythm and crunch. The tropes of modern pop are debased by a fuck you attitude that favours Milner’s personal vision over audience expectations; he roams from chugging Krautrock synth experiments to bleeding nose punk, displaying a range and depth unusual for a new artist. The sheer musical energy and absence of convention found in the EP places Milner at the forefront of Sydney’s DIY scene and demands attention.
