GVY is a singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist hailing from Brisbane. After being inspired by other DIY producers like Golden Vessel and Vetta Borne, he has taken to producing his own music out of his living room. GVY crafts a brooding blend of intimate alt-R’n’B with shades of staggered soul vibes; each song a vehicle for cathartic reflection. Growing up, he was always exposed to an eclectic collection of music; from his Dad’s love for Eric Clapton and Miles Davis to his Mother’s affection for Prince and Ray Lamontagne. This drew GVY to music, and he soon started his own diverse musical discovery, bouncing frequently between artists like The Beatles, Biffy Clyro, Asgier, Frank Ocean, and Lianne La Havas. It’s a sonic diversity that GVY injects into his music, always wanting to challenge himself to draw different influences and left-field elements.
