Named after a ship in the "scrap iron flotilla" that served in the Australian Navy in WWII, HMAS Vendetta write songs about Australian History with it's many triumphs and tragedies. Song titles include "The Lighthorsemen", "Roaring Forties" and "The Digger with Dark Skin", a song about the Aboriginal ANZAC, Reg Saunders. HMAS Vendetta put a distinctly Aussie twist on the genre of Powermetal with the addition of Piano and shredding Violin to the time-honoured line-up of Operatic Vocals, Lead Guitar, Bass and Drums. The result is a style all their own called Powermetal-down-the-pub. With crowd participation a big part of the show, few bands create such a bond with the audience as HMAS Vendetta. Their Patriotic Rock anthems will stir the ANZAC spirit in even the wimpiest indie-rock ponce.
