Hairy Soul Man is an original comedy soul music extravaganza, written by Fringe award-winning comedian and musician Kai Smythe. Featuring a ten piece band consisting of the best emerging soul musicians in Melbourne, Hairy Soul Man will transcend the comedy genre to blow the underpants right off the listener. Hairy Soul Man is the evolution of Kai Smythe’s solo show Big Hairy Fun which toured nationally with sold out nights and rave reviews (‘Pure genius’ – Herald Sun). In this show Kai wrote and performed a number of songs, which after extensive touring, made apparent that this music was his calling in comedy. Building the concept into a full show, Kai has decided to take even further by incorporating a full ten-piece soul and blues band.
