Hanabi was created in late 2003 by Anita Goldsworthy & Remy Boccalatte, two singer/songwriters from Brisbane, Australia. After being heavily involved in the scene in their separate projects, their love of various styles of music brought them together and a selection of songs were written and performed while abroad in Canada. Their return to Australia saw them immediately jump back onto the live music circuit and recruit a brass and percussion section. Drawing from influences ranging from electronic, indie, acoustic, pop and new jazz, Hanabi intertwines male and female vocal melodies with driving acoustic guitar, and melodic orchestral undertones layered over keys, brass and percussion. With a live performance that is both intimate and full of passion and lots of smiles, the last 12 months have seen the release of their debut album 'Speaking in Haiku', an East Coast Tour, Supports, Festivals such as the Valley Fiesta and soon to be featured at upcoming QMUSIC Big Sound Conference in
